Madhubani Painting
Madhubani Painting is traditional Indian style of painting done by the village womenfolk to decorate their homes. Its practised in the Madhubani distict of Bihar and these skills are handed down from one generation to the next.
These paintings are now done on paper, canvas and cloth. The paintings are two dimensional ,there are no empty spaces, deities, flowers, birds , trees are favorite topics.Earlier vegetable dyes derived from plants were used .
I have used handmade paper and poster paints , acrylic colors and brushes for this painting.
Please visit Indian Folk Designs for more information and designs on Madhubani painting.
