Greeting Cards

Making greeting cards is very interesting and useful , its a labour of love ! I remember making cards for various occasions in school and sending them to family and friends. Now of course card making has evolved into a more complex exercise as there are so many tools available.
One can use Paper Punches to cut out various shapes , rubber stamps to add the message and now there is the Cuttlebug making waves in this craft. Its no longer simple !
I am on my way to acquiring the above tools as it gives a very professional touch to homemade cards. For Quilling instructions please visit my blog on the subject.

This yummy recipe was given by JC .
Right now I do not have access to any craft shop but fortunately I have a number of wrapping papers , handmade paper and embellishments which I am putting to good use.
Hoping to buy punches , stamps on my next trip to a metro !

Card

Here is a card for CraftyJC Challenge -Sketch Time . I have used quilling and painting for it . Hope I got the concept right !!
Three quilled loose rolls make my roses , and the yellow flower is simplicity itself. Just make an accordion pleats out of a strip of paper and stick the ends , and glue to make the centre. The tiny butterflies are flattened quilled rolls in a v shape.
The stems , leaves, greenery and the flower centre have been painted with acrylic colors.
Checkout Quillingmagic.blogspot.com for quilling instructions.

Rakhi Card- Quilling

Hello friends , I have made this Rakhi card for CraftyJC Challenge .
Its made on card paper , 3-D outliner is used for writing and for the dots in the background.
The flower is made of quilling . I used a tooth-pick to make rolls of handcut paper strips . Then stuck the relaxed rolls and pinched two ends to get a marquis or the eye shape for petals.
Rest was easy , I stuck the marquis in a flower shape . A smaller flower was made similarly and stuck on the white one. The large flower has 6 petals and the smaller one 8.
One strip was used to make the string for the rakhi.
I used paper , fevicol ,toothpick , 3- D outliners and card paper.
Hope you like it !
